ISPS - Ship safety, anti-terrorism precaution and courses

International Ship & Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) took effect on July 1st, 2004 and applies to all ships over 500GT in international voyages. This code has certain demands for ships and ports in regards to security, access control, etc. Nørresundby Shipping A/S ISM/ISPS department helps to achieve certification under this code. The department visits the ship, analyses the need and then draws SSA (Ship Security Assessment), that forms the basis of the SSP (Ship Security Plan) and is also prepared.

Nørresundby Shipping A/S ISM/ISPS department advises on implementation, conducts courses for the crew, takes part in the certification of the ship, and the department serves as CSO of the ship. Subsequently, the department continuously controls the effectiveness of the ship's SSP both through a reporting system and through annual drills/audits. The department also contributes at intermediate survey and is responsible for document management.
