ISM - safe ship operation for cargo, environment, ship and crew

The International Safety Management Code (ISM code) came into force July 1, 2002, requirring management systems to ensure safe ship operation at all stages so as to avoid damage to crew, ship, cargo and environment. Nørresundby Rederi & Shipping A/S is fully certified by this code and can thus act as DOC holder for other ships while helping to ensure that other shipping companies obtain certification according to this code.

We visit the ship and analyze the need, then prepare a complete SMS system, hold courses for the crew and assist in certification of the ship. Subsequently we continously checks the effectiviness of the ship's SMS, using both reporting and annual audits. We also participate in intermediate vision and are responsible for document management.
